I think my home has hail damage. What do I do now?

It can be stressful and overwhelming when your home has hail damage. At Rampart Roofing, Inc., our goal is to take the guesswork out of the homeowners insurance claim process. When you suspect you have hail damage, we recommend calling your roofer first before contacting your insurance company. We’ll conduct a thorough roof assessment and determine whether or not there is enough damage to warrant a homeowners insurance claim.

During our roofing inspection, we’ll take photos and clearly mark any damage we find. If we do find that there is sufficient damage, we’ll recommend that you proceed by contacting your insurance company to get started with the claim process. For more details, read this blog post about the 10 steps to a new roof.

The Homeowners Insurance Claim Process

Before you begin the homeowners insurance claim process, you’ll need to gather some information about the incident. Carefully note the date and time at which the incident takes place. Document the location of the incident and the property involved. Take photos and detailed records of the resulting damage. Next, contact your homeowners insurance agent to file a claim. Your insurance company will send a claims adjuster to evaluate the loss and estimate the cost of repairs based on your policy’s coverage. Once your insurance settlement is final, call Rampart Roofing, Inc. to start the restoration process. Your sales consultant will ask to see a copy of your homeowners insurance claim to get a better idea of where you are in the insurance process. The next step is to sign your roofing contract and place a deposit so construction can begin. For more information, read our blog post “Why Does My Roofer Want To See My Insurance Claim…Is it a Scam?
