3 of the Best Ways to Remove Ice Buildup and Ice Dams

   This method requires more effort, patience, and precision. Begin by gently chipping the ice away from the inner areas of your gutters and downspouts. Use moderate pressure while doing this to avoid damaging your gutter system and roof. The ice will slowly begin to crack and break away.
