What Happens Next? Here’s What to Expect After Your Roofing Project is Complete:

At Rampart Roofing, we understand that a new roof is a big investment. That’s why we’re committed to providing you with the best possible roofing experience from start to finish. This is what you can expect after a new roof installation:

1. Cleanup

Our crew will thoroughly clean your property, removing any debris or nails that may have fallen during the installation process. Even with a thorough cleanup, however, there may be a few stray items that don’t show up until later. If you discover any leftover materials, please let us know as soon as possible. We’ll send someone right out to make sure your property is safe and clean.

2. Rampart Roofing, Inc.’s Final Inspection

One of our team members will conduct a final inspection of your new roof to check for code items and ensure that the installation meets all manufacturer requirements. This includes a survey of the roof and property for any overlooked trash. We’ll pick up any remaining materials.

3. Payment (if you are not using insurance)

If you are not working with insurance, a final invoice will be sent after Rampart Roofing’s final inspection. You can mail or deliver a check to our office, or you can schedule a time for us to pick it up. We also accept credit or debit card payments in-office or over the phone.

4. Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (PPRBD) Inspection

The PPRBD is responsible for inspecting all new roofs to ensure that they meet city code requirements. Please keep in mind that PPRBD inspectors have their own schedule, so it may be several weeks before they come out to look at your roof. Delays are especially common if there has been significant hail or wind storms, damaging many homes. You can check the PPRBD website at www.pprbd.org to see when an inspector will be in your area. Rampart Roofing, Inc. has no control over when this inspection will take place. This inspection is to address code items only and is not as thorough as our final inspection.

4. Insurance

If you are using insurance to cover the cost of your new roof, we will work with your insurance company to make sure all expenses are covered. Sometimes, your roofer or your insurance adjuster may miss some things during their initial inspection. Certain roofing issues are not always visible until construction begins. For example, upon roof tear off, your roofer may find that your decking is rotting, or your roof may have an extra layer of shingles that require removal. If there are any missing items, we will begin the supplement phase. This can often happen before the roofing project is complete. Once this step of the process is complete, we make sure your insurance company releases all funds and we submit a final invoice. 5. Final invoice (if you are using insurance)

Once we have received final approval from your insurance company, we will send you a final invoice based on their revision of the claim.

6. Payment

You will be asked to remit the final payment for your new roof. The final payment does not depend on whether your roof passes the PPRBD inspection. This is because we cannot control the PPRBD’s schedule and complete a more thorough inspection of your roof. If, for some reason, your roof does not pass PPRBD inspection, we will be notified and a member of our team will follow up with you about the next steps. If there are any delays, it is in your contract that we will guarantee that the roof passes inspection. 

7. Warranties

Once we receive your final payment, we will issue all warranties to you. Your new roof will include a 5-year workmanship warranty and any manufacturers’ warranties. You will receive your warranties via email.

8. Impact Resistant Shingle Forms

Some insurance companies, like USAA and State Farm, offer insurance premium discounts if you choose impact resistant shingles. If your insurance company offers a discount, they will request an impact resistant shingle verification form. If they do, be sure to call our office and a member of our team will assist you.

In addition to the above, here are some things to keep in mind after your roofing project is complete:

• Monitor your roof for leaks. Even the best-installed roofs can develop leaks over time. If you see any leaks, contact us immediately.
• Keep your gutters clean. Clogged gutters can lead to water damage to your roof and foundation. Be sure to have your gutters cleaned regularly. 
• Trim trees and shrubs away from your roof. Overgrown trees and shrubs can damage your roof and make it more difficult to inspect for leaks. Be sure to trim trees and shrubs back so they are at least 6 feet away from your roof.
• Schedule regular roof inspections. Taking care of your roof is one of the best things you can do to maintain your home. We recommend scheduling annual roof inspections. Preventative roof care will keep your home safe and help you save on repair costs.
