How Your Roofing Project May Have Been Affected in 2020

Happy New Year from Rampart Roofing!

We’re back from celebrating the holidays and our office is open and ready for business! Reflecting on 2020, we’re grateful to have been an essential business during the global pandemic and state shutdowns. While Rampart Roofing’s installations and day-to-day operations were mostly unaffected by the outbreak, there were still some differences to adjust to related to Covid-19. Here are just a few ways that your roofing project may have been affected during 2020 and here’s what you can look forward to in 2021.

Working virtually and taking safety precautions: To keep our clients and employees safe, we began to offer proposal presentations virtually via Zoom meetings. We also adapted to working and performing our day-to-day office operations virtually. When our team members were scheduled to meet face-to-face with our clients, they were instructed to wear masks and practice social distancing to ensure client safety.

Roofing manufacturing plant closures: During 2020, some major roofing material manufacturing plants were forced to close for up to two weeks at a time due to Covid-19. These plants are usually scheduled to meet production requirements by functioning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s no doubt that these closures heavily impacted the roofing product supply. Some of our clients were directly impacted by the low roofing material inventories and had to choose different shingle colors and brands. Luckily, our suppliers have since caught up and our clients no longer have to worry about having a plan B shingle brand or color lined up.

Price increases: Covid-19 and the tropical storms that occurred during 2020’s hurricane season brought price increases with them. Roof decking prices were particularly affected as they doubled during 2020.

2020 certainly was a year full of challenges. The entire team at Rampart Roofing is incredibly grateful to have had a productive year despite those challenges. During 2021, our clients can expect the same level of sensitivity and respect from us. We’ll continue to keep our clients safe through virtual meetings, wearing masks, and social distancing. For the past 12 years, we’ve aimed to serve our clients like family and they can continue to expect the best from us in 2021.
